About Us

Epoch is a competitive softball organization that trains, motivates, and educates players from all over San Diego, and South Orange County. Our priorities are to assist young athletes in achieving their athletic and academic goals.

We create an environment where athletes can improve their skills both mentally and physically. Our experienced coaches provide high quality instruction that focuses on fundamentals in all phases of the game. We stress to all athletes and their parents the importance of working just as hard in the classroom as on the field.

The Epoch coaching staff is comprised of former professional athletes and collegiate All American’s who specialize in imparting their knowledge of the game to players in a way they can both understand and build upon.

Our Commitments:

#1 Teach the Game

#3 Prepare for the Future

#2 Compete Nationally

Often times you see younger athletes have success because they are more physically gifted then their counterparts.  As they get older and the playing field begins to level out, you will find that those players who truly understand the intricacies of the game tend to out play those less informed.

From day one we set out to have all our athletes use their intellect to add to their physical skills to assist in acheiving indiviual and team success.  Where to position yourself depending on the batter; knowing opponents tendecies; anticipating the play and your responsiblities... We believe these things are just as important as hitting mechanics, or baserunning techniques, or how to properly field a ground ball, so we spend just as much time teaching the mental side of softball as we do working on proper mechanics.

Getting these athletes to know and understand all phases of the game where they can think for themselves rather than waiting for a coach to tell the what to do every play is our approach to creating the complete softball player.

In a perfect world, your daughter would be on a team where she plays all the time, always plays well, and her team wins every game.  But that isn't realistic, nor is it character building.

The goal should be to play on a team where through hard work and a positive attitude, you find yourself learing the game, having fun and competing at the highest levels.  Epoch players are taught to learn mulitiple positions and given opportunities both in practice and in games to earn a starting spot.

With this approach the athletes have improved their game both individually and as a group, and as a result they have found themselves competing at the highest levels against the best this great sport has to offer Nationally.

This outstanding group of young atheletes have participated in the top tournament of the year: PGF Premier Nationals in our only two years of existence, which is a tribute to their hard work and passion for the game, as well as their pride in being part of something special that they helped build from the ground up.

It is understood that the reason most athletes make the commitment to participate in travel ball or club sports at the highest levels is because they are pursing an opportunity to compete in that sport at the collegiate level.  With a coaching staff comprised entirely of former college athletes, we know what it takes to achieve such goals, and we use this knowledge and experience to assist our athletes in the preparation for their softball future.

Providing our atheltes with expert knowledge of how to play the game is just one of the components we provide. Participanting in showcase tournaments throughout the country and qualifying for the top National events are other ways we help these players represent themselves in front of college coaches.

With the vast number of colleges looking for athletes in Division I, II, III and NAIA... opportunities to extend their softball careers after high school are abundant.  We pride ourselves in providing a path for each of our players to find a perfect fit for them both academically and athletically when choosing their future college.
