Chris Facione - Head Coach / Chief Instructor

Coaching

 

  • In the Fall of 2012 Coach Facione teamed up with former players Danielle Kinley and Rene Delagrammaticas to begin the process of building a new competitive softball organization in San Diego called - EPOCH.  From its humble beginins in 2012 consisting of one little 10u team, the organization has now grown into 5 teams, and more of Chris's former players such as Courtney Craig, Victoria Jones, Precious Tuisee, and Naomi Amu... have joined this impressive coaching staff to continue to provide young athletes with the knowledge and passion for this great game.

 

  • In their first two full season Epoch qualified and participated in the biggest tournament of the year - PGF Premier Nationals - first at the 12u division in the summer of 2014 and then again this past year in the 14u division.  

 

  • 2011:   Before the birth of Epoch, Coach Facione was asked to be a part of the San Dieo Aztecs 98' team, and in their first year helped them qualify for PGF Premier Nationals as a first year 14u team.  

 

  • 2010:   Took his athletic talents to both the big and small screen as he was a part of two Gatorade commercials and was also featured in the hit movie Moneyball.

 

  • 2000 - 2009:  Was the creator, founder and head coach of The Next Level (TNL) travel ball organization. based in North County San Diego.  Built the organization from the ground up into a National powerhouse within it's first 2 years.  Finished in the top three at Nationals in three straight years, and went on to help over 100 athletes achieve their goal of playing collegiately in Divison I schools all over the country.

 

  • 1998:   Was founder and CEO of The Next Level Athletics, a sports training company where former professional and collegiate athletes ran sports camps and clinics as well as provided private lessons in football, baseball, basketball and softball for kids all of          San Diego County for over 10 years.

Sports History

 

  • Was a three sport athlete (football, baseball and basketball) at El Dorado High School in Placentia, CA where after winning multiple team and league awards in all three sports, went on to win Athelete of the year for the Empire League his Senior year.  

 

  • Having to decide which sport to play in college, Chris eventually accepted a baseball scholarship from the University of California at Berkeley. 

 

  • After his college career, Facione went on to sign with the Detroit Tigers Organization where he spent 4 years in the minor leagues in such wonderful cities such as Bristol, Tennessee; Fayetteville, North Carolina; Lakeland, Florida and Visalia, CA.
