Coach Victoria Jones - Bio

University of California at Berkeley

 

  • 2014: As a Senior earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention…Started all 52 games of the season, playing anywhere from catcher to first or second base.  She was second on the team in walks (30) and third on team for runs scored (27) and home runs (6)

 

  • 2013: In her Junior year she was one of Cal's most versatile players, playing second base, first base, catcher and shortstop throughout the year.  Recognized as an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention and NFCA All-Pacific Region Second Team member.  Led the team in sacrifice bunts (9)...Second on the team for runs scored (32), home runs (11) and walks (25). Totaled seven multi-hit and multi-RBI games, including a career-high four RBI vs. Central Michigan (5/17) in the Ann Arbor Regional

 

  • 2012:  As a Sophomore, Victoria caught for Jolene Henderson or played first base...started in 46 games. She was a consistent hitter batting .311 on the season...hit six home runs and four extra-base shots. Started in five games at the Berkley Regional, playing four behind the plate and one at first base

     

  • 2011:  Just a freshman, Jones exploded in the postseason, hitting .333 (.365 before the WCWS) with three sacrifice hits and four RBI.  Became Cal's starting second baseman from day one, but also spent time behind the dish.  Knocked in 23 RBI's on the year and put down team-high six sacrifice hits...Was six of seven in stolen bases ...Hit .250 in eight at-bats with one RBI at the Women's College World Series

 

  • High School Accolades:   Was First-Team All-Palomar League, First-Team All-North County, First-Team All-CIF and Most Valuable Player for her high school softball team during 2008 and 2010...Named the Athlete of the Year during her senior year...Played varsity soccer and was named Best Offensive Player her sophomore and senior years. 

 

  • Club Ball: Played entire career for TNL (The Next Level), coached by Chris Facione

     

Coaching Career

 

  • After graduating from Cal with a degree in Sociology, Jonesy jumped right in to help her former coach continue to build the Epoch softball program.  She worked with athletes from all three divisions (10u, 12u and 14u) and was a part of both the 2014 12u PGF National team as well as the 14u PGF National team in the summer of 2015.  

 

  • Was asked to be the Head Junior Varsity coach for La Costa Canyon High school in the Spring of 2015, and led that team to a 20-4 record and a 2nd place finish.

 

  • Victoria also does private lessons with catchers all over San Diego County.
