Desiree Dufek - Epoch - Class of 2019
Desiree Dufek entered the Epoch organization as a gangly, awkward and hyper 12 year old full of untapped raw talent. She will leave it as the most talented and decorated player ever to put on the uniform. Dez has a passion for the game of softball that is unparalleled. No one loves the game more. No one loved being around her teammates more. And very few have been able to dominate the game both offensively and defensively like she has done over the course of her 7 year career with Epoch. Dez will go down as the all time leader in just about every offensive statistical category there is. She was also a shutdown catcher with a gun for an arm and incredible blocking skills. Desiree is the type of player that makes all her teammates around her play harder and be better. If Sam Turner was the heart of those teams, Dez was the soul. She will continue her education and softball career at the Indiana University in the Big 10 conference.

"Desiree Dufek is a rising sophomore on the Indiana University Softball team. I had the pleasure of working with Des throughout her freshmen year, and I am incredibly proud of her hard work and efforts," said Natalie Pyrz. "Anyone that knows her, knows that she is a hard worker and is not afraid to ask questions and seek out assistance when needed. It was not uncommon for Des to frequently and consistently utilize her academic resources both in Shuel and on campus. Although Des only just wrapped up her freshmen year, it was fun to watch her blossom into a confident STUDENT-athlete. Throughout her first year, we experimented with different academic strategies, and by practicing these skills she has developed a tool kit for academic success. I look forward to watching Des continue to grow in the classroom, and to see her to continue to challenge herself in becoming the best that she can be!"
